A NOTE ABOUT AGE DIVISIONS: At the annual National Citrus Pageant (held annually in February), each contestant must compete in the age division as of the contestant’s age as of January 23 of the competition year. Please note: At any Citrus Preliminary Pageant, each contestant shall compete in the age division as of the contestant’s age the day of the actual Citrus Preliminary Pageant.
The Contestants compete in each of the following three categories:
1.) 0-11 months girls, 12-23 months girls, 0-35 months boys, and 2-3 year girls compete in a BEAUTY LINE UP. Each contestant will wear the white t-shirt that each contestant will purchase at check-in (the design on the t-shirt is neon orange) and anything white on the bottom. The contestants may wear sneakers or sandals. This allows the judges to see your child close-up, it replaces the interview, no questions will be asked, parents are allowed to escort child. Babies to age 3 years, the time is 30 seconds.
2.) Boys 3-6 and Girls 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29 and 30+ compete in a private interview with a panel of 3 judges. Each contestant will wear the white t-shirt that
each contestant will purchase at check-in (the design on the t-shirt is neon orange) and a wear skirt, skort, shorts, pants, or capris. The contestant may wear sandals, sneakers, or heels. Each contestant will simply state name and hobbies and will be asked one question from each of the 3 judges. Aages 4 and up, the time is 45 seconds. Here are a few examples of Citrus Wear
3.) 0-11 months girls, 12-23 months girls, 0-35 months boys, 2-3 years girls, 3-6 years boys, 4-6 years girls, 7-9 years girls THIS IS A CHANGE FROM PAST YEARS:
Each contestant must wear canary yellow, lime green, and/or orange. The outfit can be a costume, sportswear, swimwear, favorite sports team uniform, or any outfit as long as the
contestant is wearing citrus colors. The contestant is allowed hand held props only. No other props are allowed to be placed on stage. He or she is allowed his/her own music to
enhance routine. No one is allowed to perform with contestant on stage. A parent that is carrying the baby contestants, that is allowed. Citrus Wear time limit is 60 seconds or less.
NOTE: It does not affect your score whether you bring your own music or not. 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29 and 30+ also compete in Citrus Wear, but these age divisions must
wear blue jeans of ANY color and length and a citrus colored top. The top must be canary yellow, lime green, and/or orange. Other colors may be in the top, but the primary colors
should be the citrus colors.
4.) All age divisions compete in the formal wear competitions. In this phase of competition the judges are looking for poise and grace on stage, facial beauty, and overall presentation. The formal attire for the boys should be a suit, tuxedo, or pants and dress shirt. The formal attire for the girls may be short or long, glitz or natural. Each Formal Wear Modeling Routine must be 90 seconds or less. At 90 seconds, the music will stop and the contestant must exit the stage. Citrus Productions created this guideline so that the pageant may run.
CITRUS NEWS ALERT: The Citrus Pageant is transitioning into a pageant like a Miss USA or Miss Universe, but age appropriate for little girls/young ladies. For boys/men, let’s capture a NYC Fashion Show of the Cover of GQ Magazine, but for your respective age division. We welcome every girl and boy and in your preparation process, let’s keep hair and make-up to a minimum, less is more, and modeling…simple. We are going “old school” and want these little girls, boys, and young ladies/men to be natural. Think of Citrus as the Pageant on the Red Carpet. Glitz and natural dresses are certainly allowed and appreciated. Let’s embrace this change!!
We will award a King or Queen, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up in each of the 14 Age Divisions. Apply today for the Optional Titles! These categories are available — but not mandatory — to all contestants and are separate from each of the 14 age division titles. Two runner-ups and one winner will be announced in each age division in each optional event. These events will be judged during the evening gown/formal wear. The photographs, portfolios and composites will be scored separately — you simply bring any size picture, to the pageant black and white or color is accepted. Please bring portfolio and composite if you will be entering those optionals. Items will be returned to you. If you are competing for one of the overall titles, (0-6 years or 7 years and up), you will need to register for all of the optional categories; however, the 2 lowest scores will be dropped. For the overall titles, we simply add the Interview, Citrus Wow Wear, Formal Wear, and the 6 highest Optional Categories. Great chance for your contestant to win additional titles!

AD PAGES INFO:
Sponsors are a very important part of a successful pageant experience. Whether they are friends, relatives or businesses, they are there to help you achieve your goals and give you support! The time and effort you make to secure sponsors will pay off handsomely when you compete!
Beyond your family, additional sponsors can be key to your success as well. Additional sponsors should be obtained by everyone. We hope every contestant will strive to have at least one full page advertisement. You can have a single sponsor for a full page, or use several different sponsors to create a full page (for example, by getting four “quarter-page” ads, you create one full-page ad!). Remember, your photos will appear on every page sold by you!
Having numerous ads in the program book is a great way to show off different sides of yourself. You are encouraged to submit a different photo for every page sold. The total price of a full-page ad is $125.00. When you are asking sponsors to buy and ad, you might find it easier to “break down” the ad into component sizes that they may more easily afford. For example, five business cards on a page at $25 each equals $125! Or perhaps two “half page” ads at $67.50 each! You can obtain sponsors at any amount, these examples are just guidelines to help you along.
Don’t forget about relatives! They love to include a special message. Just write it out on a sheet of paper or email your messages; our graphic designer will make sure
your ad looks its best!
Please try for at least one full page!
Anyone selling one full page will be awarded a crown on stage!
When mailing or emailing in ads, please furnish a clean copy of any logos, artwork or pictures. You may submit previous ads, letterheads, ad slick or whatever your sponsors would like to have printed in their ads. Remind your sponsors that the program book will be distributed nationally, and that your personal photo will appear on every full page you sell.
Money Making Opportunity for all contestants:
You may secure 10 sponsors per page at $50.00, for example. The advertising page still costs $125.00 and you would profit $375.00. Selling advertising pages is a great way to pay for hotel room, wardrobe, and any other cost included at the National Pageant.
Those contestants who sell five or more pages in the program book will receive a six foot trophy! Those selling 10 or more pages will also receive all optional category fees paid.
AD PAGES GUIDELINES:
Each ad page is 8 ½” by 11”
As you talk to sponsors, use a regular blank sheet of paper (8½ by 11). You and they can sketch out what you’d generally like the ad to look like, and use the back to write the “copy” or message that your sponsor(s) want to appear.
Attach your business card, letterhead, etc. with a paper clip, putting a small sheet of a paper between the photo and the paper clip. Put your first and last name at the bottom of the page. Make sure your name is on the back of the photo as well, in case they get separated. You can submit your own design for the ad, or our professional graphic designer will create an ad just for you. Please print clearly, as this will prevent any misspellings or miscommunication. Do not staple photos. Please send original photos — no laser or inkjet copies. They do not reproduce will.
The deadline is January 17, 2017 — You must call pageant headquarters in advance if you cannot make this deadline.
This could be you! Open to all ages!
The contestant submitting the most ad pages for the program book will be crowned Little Miss, Mister, Teen, or Miss Centerfold. He or she will be featured in the center of the program book, plus he or she will receive a six foot trophy, a crown, sash, and all optional category fees paid. The contestant selling the second highest amount of ad pages will be crowned Ad Sales King/Queen. He or she will be featured on the inside front cover of our program book, plus receive a six foot trophy, crown, sash, and a gift from Citrus Productions. The contestant selling the third highest amount of ad pages will be crowned Ad Sales Prince/Princess. He or she will be feature on the inside back cover of our program book, plus receive a trophy, crown, sash and gift from Citrus Productions.
(You must sell at least eight full pages to qualify for any of these awards)
Start promoting your ad pages today! Be a Centerfold!
THE DEADLINE FOR EVERYTHING THAT IS TO BE PRINTED IN THE PROGRAM BOOK IS JANUARY 17, 2017
We will have a beautiful program book printed. It will be divided into two sections: The Contestant Gallery, and the Ad pages.
Program books will be on sale at the competition. They will be distributed to numerous agencies throughout the United States.
The Contestant Gallery - Every contestant must be in this section. There will be a photo of each contestant in this section. You must send your fee and photo in by the deadline. Please don’t forget to label your photo on the back — full name and age. All pictures are returned.
The ad pages - Our pageant is self-supporting, which means we depend on things like ad page sales to help promote the competition and to ensure each contestant has a great weekend with lots of keepsakes and memories!
REMINDER: THOSE CONTESTANTS WHO SELL FIVE OR MORE PAGES IN THE PROGRAM BOOK WILL RECEIVE A SIX FOOT TROPHY! THOSE SELLING 10 OR MORE PAGES WILL ALSO RECEIVE ALL OPTIONAL CATEGORY FEES PAID.
Every boy and girl will be crowned on stage during the Crowning Ceremony if you purchase one ad page for $125.00. It is such an honor and memory! We shall announce his or her name and crown them on the Citrus Stage!! Please read over all of the Advertising Page Information and submit your page to email@example.com If you need assistance creating the Advertising Page, please contact the office at (407) 761-1145 or firstname.lastname@example.org
ABOUT YOUR PHOTOS:

Our graphic designer will reduce or enlarge each photo if needed. Please paper clip the photos to your ad copy. Do not put staples or tape of any kind on photos or business cards!
